Albright Insurance Agency was founded in 1921 and has been located in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, since 1929. During its early years, the agency established and nurtured a reputation for providing prompt, friendly service to its customers. That reputation was maintained and enhanced by the partners who owned the agency until 1986. Upon their retirement Richard Kuchar, CPCU, CIC, became General Manager and President.

Under the new management the agency broadened its portfolio of products and services through the addition of several insurance carriers and also improved its service capabilities by automating internal procedures.

In 1987, the agency opened a second office in Robesonia, PA. The new location allowed us to enter and provide local service to both commercial and personal accounts in the growing western Berks County area.

The agency staff is composed of six employees; all of the service personnel are licensed, experienced, property and casualty insurance agents.

The owner of Albright, Richard Kuchar, CPCU, CIC holds both undergraduate and graduate university degrees and has been a licensed Pennsylvania property and casualty, life and health agent and broker since 1977.

In 1986, he received the professional designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). The designation was awarded by the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters,Inc., "evidencing the fulfillment of a prescribed period of satisfactory insurance experience, the successful completion of a series of comprehensive examinations, and the acceptance of a strict code of ethical conduct."

In 1994 Kuchar received the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). This designation is awarded by the Society of CIC, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to professional insurance education. The designation is awarded to those candidates who successful complete a series of five in depth insurance courses, each course ending with a rigorous essay examination. He has continued his formal insurance education by completing at least one advanced insurance topic seminar each year thereafter.

Kuchar also teaches insurance agents as an instructor of various Certified Continuing Education courses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
